• [Summer Intern] (May 11, 2011) Devesh from NC State University will join ORNL as a summer intern on 5/14 to continue our project on designing framework for NVM based out-of-core data analyitics storage systems. I will be technically mentoring him duirng his summer internship. Welcome on board!
• [Lecture] (April 4, 2012) Invited to give a special lecture on storage system and emerging memory technology in advanced computer architecture class at Georgia Tech on April 17.
• [Travel] (April, 2012) Planning to attend Sigmetrics'12 (June 11-15, 2012) to present our paper on dilation factor models for estimating application slow-down in multi-resource and shared system environment.
• [Travel] (Mar 4-6, 2012) Attending Annual UCSD's Non-Volatile Memories Workshop (33 presentations selected out of 60 submissions).
• [Publication] (Mar 3, 2012) Go MSST 2012!!! Active Flash paper that studies the feasibility of moving compute tasks to data storage to save power as well as increase data processing speed got accepted by IEEE MSST 2012. (only 24.5% acceptance rate, 14 accepted out of 57 submissions.).
• [Publication] (Feb 10, 2012) Our paper for next-generation parallel file systems environment at OLCF got accepted to appear in the proceedings of Cray User Group conference.
• [Publication] (Feb 9, 2012) Accepted in minor revision for ACM TWEB!!! Our workoad characterization paper for blog servers finally got accepted with minor revision in ACM Transactions on the Web (TWED).
• [Publication] (Feb 5, 2012) Go Sigmetrics 2012!!! Our D-Factor model paper (Application slow-down estimation models for multi-resource shared environment) got accepted to appear in SIGMETRICS/Performance 2012.
• [Publication] (Jan 29, 2012) GC coordination technique for SSD RAID and Active flash papers will be presented in 2012 Non-Volatile Memories Workshop. An energy trade-off analysis paper on Active Flash will also be presented as a poster in NVMW 2012.
• [Publication] (Dec 12, 2011) IPDPS paper accepted!!! Our paper on "NVMalloc: Exposing an Aggregate SSD Store as a Memory Partition in Extreme-Scale Machines" got accepted to appear in IPDPS 2012.
• [Vacation] (Nov 19-26, 2011) A long vacation to visit Washington DC, Philadelphia, Baltimore, State College, Buffalo, Toronto (Niagara Falls), and Manhattan, NY.
